Character Information
Character Name: Pogue Parry
Canon: The Covenant
Canon Point: End of Movie
Is your character Dead, Undead or Alive: Alive, in the hospital severely wounded.
History: Movies Wiki page here and his Wikia page here.
Personality:
Pogue Parry is the clear definition of a teen aged boy. He attends a private school but is still ever the rough and rowdy teenager he looks. He has the look of a bad boy and plays the part to the T. He doesn't back down from a fight even when it means getting in trouble and loves to party. It's not uncommon to find him and his friends attending the more than a little illegal parties in the Dells. He does drink even if he is underage but it tends to only be at said parties.
Going along with his bad boy look Pogue is a huge adrenaline junkie. The proof of this lies in one of his dearest treasures, his motorcycle. This bike is his only mode of transportation and in truth he wouldn't have it any other way. It is also not often that he will say no to Using on something that will cause him that surge of adrenaline, for example flying a car off a cliff to escape the cops. The adrenaline shows Pogue that he is in fact alive and reminds him that even with his powers he can still in fact die, it's just a little harder for him.
While Pogue is not shown with siblings, he does in fact have three pseudo-brothers. These three are his best friends and people he would do anything, even risk his own life, to protect. He is the second oldest of the group and sort of took up the mantle of second in command after Caleb. Having the position he is able to have more sway over the things that Caleb decides, while also being able to goof around and play along with Reid and Tyler. There are times when he feels he has to play mediator but he doesn't mind. He'd do anything, say anything, so long as his little family stayed together.
His trust for Caleb is unwavering, even when it is against his own 'Brothers'. There are times he doesn't believe Reid because of the boy's attitude but even still, he trusts them all. His loyalty to Caleb seems to come without question or worry if the older boy is wrong about something. He even goes so far as to break into the school with the group leader to find information on the mysterious newcomer to the school.
Of course his loyalty and protection is not limited to the other Son's of Ipswich. He is shown to be a very loyal, if not jealous, lover. He rushes off blindly once hearing that Kate, his girlfriend, is in trouble. He would rather face Chase than loose the girl. Through out the movie he is shown as being overly jealous of the new guys attention on his girlfriend. Pogue has a habit of being territorial and possessive when it comes to those close to him. Some would see this as a bad thing, but really...it just shows how much he needs his friends, family, and lovers.
Abilities, Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strength:
Pogue is very gifted in using the Power, a supernatural ability that seems almost limitless save for the fact that it takes a toll on his body. The Power is horribly seductive, addictive, and ages the Users body with ever time it is used after the Ascension(when the User comes to be 18 years of age). When activated the Power turns the Users eyes pitch black, the darker the color the stronger the Power is.
Weakness:
Despite the great power it grants the user, The Power comes at a price; each time a user uses The Power, he loses some of his life essence and soon slowly begins to age at an accelerated rate each time he summons The Power. On top of all this, The Power is highly addictive and many users who don't possess strict willpower can become consumed with Power and eventually use so much that they age to the point of death. It is described as being seductive and addictive, sort of like a drug.
Another form of a weakness for Pogue is how much he cares about people. He is impulsive and tends to act before he thinks, rushing into danger without a second thought. The easiest way to show this is how quickly he rushed off to go after Chase when he heard that his girlfriend, Kate, was in the hospital. In light of his impulsive and rash decision he is almost put into a comma.
Samples
Network/Action Spam Sample:
[Pogue looks into the video feed, this guys eyes are dark. Not pitch black yet seeing as he's not actually using, but never the less it's obvious he is not happy about one thing or another.]
I swear to god, if I find out who did this...they are going to die.
Painfully.
[What is it that Pogue is so upset about? Just look at what the guy is now holding up. That tattered piece of leather was once his favorite leather coat.]
Better fess up now...because I will find out sooner or later.
Prose Log Sample:
The day is fairly dreary, and Pogue both loves and hates it. He loves it because, well, it reminds him of home a little. The sun was covered by grey clouds that seemed to promise rain, something he would love. The smell in the air right after a storm was always the best thing to Pogue.
Why did he hate it you ask? Because...it always made him miss home. It was funny, the very reason he loved the rain was the reason he at the same time hated it. When he remembered home, he remembered where he was and who he was trapped with. He remembered the horrors that they had to face and the things he had seen. Things he never wanted to see again, but knew he would.
Tapping his fingers along the window pane Pogue let out a heavy sigh that seemed to make his entire body shift, as if the weight of the world were stuck solely on his shoulders. There was no Caleb around to take charge, no...now he had to be the one to do that. He had to put on the brave face and protect the younger 'Son of Ipswich'. The title brought a mirthless laugh to fall from his lips. It meant nothing here. Even if they could Use, there was no one here who really cared. Others had far greater powers with far less risk. Others could fly, move objects with their minds...anything, all with no worry for their health or sanity.
It took a while but soon Pogue shook himself from his dejected thoughts and stood from where he sat beside the window. Today was not the day to worry about things he could not change. Besides, he had a job to do. It was time he started looking around for parts to fix the bike he had found.

When activated the Power turns the Users eyes pitch black, the darker the color the stronger the Power is.
The Power remains dormant within the user until his 13th birthday, during which the user "gets a taste" of The Power. Caleb Danvers described his first "taste" of The Power as a kind of test. The user is granted untold power and grows more powerful each year until he ascends full power on the eve of his 18th birthday.
The Power is shown to grant the wielder:
- Telekinesis - The ability to move objects at will.
- Pyrokinesis - The ability to ignite, summon, and nourish fire.
- Mediumship - The ability to see spirits.
- Teleportation - The ability to teleport oneself or others.
- Technopathy - The ability to control technology and mechanics.
- Astral Projection - The ability to project ones consciousness and senses outside ones physical body.
- Aerokinesis - The ability to control or influence the direction and flow of the wind.
- Atmokinesis - The ability to control or influence the weather.
- Energy Blasts - The ability to fire powerful energy blasts from ones hands.
- Energy Sourcing - The ability to call upon energy to strengthen ones powers.
- Power Sensing - The ability to sense when another is using The Power.
- Flight - The ability to defy and act independently of gravity.
- Portal Creation - The ability to create portals to an unkown location.
- Super Strength - The ability to exert superhuman bodily force.
- Shapeshifting - The ability to change ones appearance.
- Voice Mimicry - The ability to change ones voice to imitate another's.
